Puducherry – 4-day Vaccination Festival to be held starting Today

Vaccination to be conducted in government hospitals, primary health centres, at designated centres in all 4 regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe & Yanam.
 
The Puducherry government is conducting a 4-day long vaccination festival starting Wednesday to battle the spread of the virus in the area. T Arun, who is the health secretary said his department will be conducting (with other departments) at more than 100 centres across the union territory.
 
He said that on Tuesday, a special camp was held in Karuvadikuppam to vaccinate differently-abled people along with their parents or their respective care-takers. More than about 150 people were vaccinated at this camp, Arun added.
 
The official also said that the government would also soon position health staff to vaccinate differently-abled people in their homes.
 
Vaccination is to be held in the following places - government hospitals, primary health centres and also at designated centres in all the 4 regions of Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe & Yanam.
 
All of the joint efforts put in by the health department along with the help of other departments, political leaders, leaders of public opinion, voluntary organisations, self- help groups and more stakeholders had been initiated to make the vaccination festival happen.
  
Organising the ‘Tika Utsav’ or the vaccination festival was first initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to accelerate the vaccination drive against Covid-19 across the country.
 
According to health experts, the spread of the virus will be diminished if maximum number of people get vaccinated as soon as possible.
