On the return flight that left from Delhi for Kabul on Saturday, the Indian government dispatched humanitarian aid which included medical supplies for the Afghani people, in light of the challenging situation there.
The medicines will be handed over to representatives of WHO in Kabul, and will be administered at the Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital there.
Under Operation Devi Shakti, as many as 669 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan by India, ever since the Taliban takeover. This included 448 Indians and 206 Afghans, with members of Afghan Hindu and Sikh minority communities. Over 500 people, comprising of 438 Indians, were evacuated from Afghanistan in August, when Taliban took control of Afghanistan.
